OptiWatti boosted sale of a detached house
OptiWatti made Pekka Väisänen’s home energy-efficient and ensured a smooth sale of the detached house. The house has electric heating and it was built in 1993.
Electric heating has a bad reputation as many buyers are beware of high energy costs. OptiWatti provides an easy way of reducing costs, which makes the property more attractive. This was also noted by HPAC engineer Pekka Väisänen, when the family wanted to sell their home four years after they had acquired OptiWatti.
During the first year, the energy consumption of the house decreased from 16,000 kWh to 12,000 kWh. With consideration to the differences in outside temperatures during this time period, the estimated reduction achieved by OptiWatti was 3,200 kWh, which corresponds to about 40% savings in heating energy.
According to Väisänen, many buyers were interested in the modern heating system with OptiWatti and the savings it had generated. In spring 2018 the property was sold in 1,5 weeks, when the average time to sell a house in Espoo is 119 days.
In addition to the 40% savings, the comfortable indoor conditions and the easy way of adjusting temperature made Väisänen’s house all the more attractive.
